The mission of Flyway Land Co. is to preserve and restore the land the way God designed it. We bring attention to the beauty and wonder of the natural world, and we advance ethical land and water practices that support wildlife, ecosystem diversity, and regeneration.

The Mississippi Flyway is the great migration corridor, converging on the alluvial banks of the Mississippi River in southern Louisiana.
Our logo is a pelican riding a clean wave. It stands in contrast to an unfortunate real pelican, photographed with a beer can in its gullet where a fish should have been, a bird reaching for a meal and getting litter instead. Closing the distance between those two birds is the work of this company.

Every decision is made with the land, nature, and the environment in mind. Anything done to the land should protect and support a functioning ecosystem, foster its diversity, and protect against future degradation.

Use visual and audio media to record the wonder of God’s creation and the natural world. Lead with connection, work that moves the viewer as it informs them. Then put the record to work: raising awareness of wildlife, nature, and environmental threats, and passing on best practices for restoration and regeneration.

To find solutions, talk less and listen more. The natural world declares how it works to anyone paying attention; even the stones cry out. Watch how a place heals itself, then follow its lead.

Flyway Land Co. was founded by J. Burnham, an award-winning conservation photographer and lifelong Louisiana outdoorsman. Restoring a place and knowing a place are the same work: the mulcher and the camera each have a role, and the measure of both is what comes back.
